Main Objectives

  • As an Internal Quality Controller you will undertake regular site visits, ensuring our site teams are delivering in compliance with all regulatory and warranty standards as well as ensuring our homes are finished to a high standard.

  • You will complete reports for each site visit, reporting back to the company directors.

  • You will provide our teams with support to continually improve the construction quality process.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be fully aware of all Building Regulation and Warranty Provider standards as well as being fully competent in the inspection of these to ensure compliance on site in all aspects.

  • Support the on-site construction teams to ensure that they are completing quality inspections at the correct times and to the correct standards. Where inspections are not up to date establish time periods for resolution of this.

  • Ensure each development receives a monthly formal audit of quality across the scheme and provide timescales for site teams to implement any corrective measures.

  • Complete monthly reviews of quality inspections vs site progress and finishing schedules, where issues are identified ensure that sites which are regularly falling behind or inaccurately completing inspections receive additional focus.

  • Categorise site performance from Outstanding to Failing and provide support to site teams to ensure improvement where required.

  • Ensure the Watson internal Clerk of Works are completing regular and accurate key stage inspections on the required percentage of development plots for your allocated sites. Hold regular meeting with the internal Clerk of Work to identify areas of concern for your allocated sites and establish action plans where necessary.

  • Take full responsibility for your allocated sites reporting compliance with Part L 2021 requirements, inspect all thermal bridges and junctions and obtain all plot photographs to comply with Part L requirements. Liaise with the Admin team for plot reports to be completed post visits.

  • You will have the ability to gather and analyse information from a variety of sources both internal and external to support your recommendations and findings. In addition to your technical expertise you should be able to demonstrate a consultative approach with the ability to build rapport, establish credibility and build effective relationships with colleagues.

Skills knowledge and aptitude

  • An excellent knowledge of Building Regulation and LABC New Home Warranty standards.

  • Relevant experience in an inspection role within the housebuilding industry.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
