Main Objectives

Ensure the implementation of robust quality control and quality assurance processes and controls

Ensure the companies ISO 9001 certification is maintained

Oversee and improve the compliance across all departments and developments

Key Responsibilities

Implement quality procedures to support the company’s ISO 9001 certification

Support the on-site construction teams to ensure that inspections are being completed and compliance achieved

Ensure that internal audits are carried out at agreed intervals and undertake analysis of outcomes from these to develop opportunities for improvement

Ensure that monthly reviews of quality inspections vs site progress are completed, where issues are identified ensure that the sites which are regularly falling behind or inaccurately completing inspections receive additional focus

Present formal reports on compliance matters to directors

Receive monthly detailed reports on aftercare performance from customer care and undertake analysis on commonly occurring defects.

Identify opportunities for changes in construction processes to avoid repetition of commonly occurring defects for discussion in monthly director meetings

Develop and provide training to current and new employees on Watson Quality Standards and our approach to continual improvement principles

Ensure that training on company procedures and policies is provided to all staff as part of their on boarding and ensure refresher training is provided where required

Support and champion compliance throughout the business

Skills knowledge and aptitude

  • Good knowledge of Building Regulations and LABC Standards

  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills

Qualifications & Training
- Essential

  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification

  • CSCS certification

Qualifications & Training
- Desirable

  • NHBC building regulations & control for residential


  • Previous experience in an inspection role in the house building industry

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Lead Audit role

Working relationships

It is important to form strong working relationships with both internal and external people. The focus in this role is:

Internal: Site Managers, Contracts Manager, Procurement & Commercial staff, Customer Care, HR and Directors
External: Sub-Contractors & LABC (or similar) representatives
